The HydroBot is a whole-home electronic metered water softener that removes hardness-causing calcium and magnesium from your water supply — automatically, based on actual usage. No more limescale on fixtures, spots on dishes, or wear on your appliances.

Choose based on your household size and water hardness level:

• 32,000 Grain — 1–3 people, moderate hardness (up to ~20 GPG). Good for smaller homes on city water.
• 48,000 Grain — 3–5 people, moderate to hard water (up to ~30 GPG). The most common choice for Houston-area homes.
• 64,000 Grain — 5+ people, very hard water, or well water (30+ GPG). Built for high-demand households.

Salt is not included — standard water softener salt pellets or solar salt work fine. Available at most hardware stores.

The HydroBot uses an electronic meter to track your actual water usage. When the resin bed approaches capacity, it automatically runs a regeneration cycle — flushing salt brine through the tank to restore the resin's ability to capture hardness minerals.

Pairing with an RO system? Install the HydroBot upstream on the main line — softened feed water significantly extends RO membrane life.

• Location: installs on your main cold water line, typically near the water heater or point of entry.
• Requirements: drain line for backwash, grounded electrical outlet (110V), and access to the main supply shutoff.
• Time: most licensed plumbers complete the install in 2–3 hours.
• Bypass valve: included — lets you isolate the softener without shutting off water to the house.

How often does it use salt?
Depends on your water hardness and usage. A 48,000 grain system in an average Houston home typically regenerates every 7–10 days, using 6–8 lbs of salt per cycle.

Will it work with well water?
It can, but high iron or manganese levels in well water require additional pre-treatment. Contact us before ordering if you're on a well.

Does it need a drain?
Yes — the regeneration cycle flushes waste water to a drain. A utility sink, floor drain, or standpipe all work.

Can I install it myself?
It's possible for experienced DIYers, but we recommend a licensed plumber to ensure correct connections and avoid voiding the warranty.

What kind of salt do I use?
Standard water softener pellets, solar salt, or potassium chloride (for low-sodium preference). Avoid rock salt — it can leave sediment in the brine tank.
